    Retired thirty-four-year firefighter out in Arizona, little concerned how you looked near the end, hope you recovered ok. My local range removed the 3d targets from the field course and rarely set them up. The field target range, targets get torn up by folks using broadheads and at times when using the range, I get checked by a range official to determine if I am using broadheads.

    Well, to demonstrate at full draw, you should keep the string and bow riser aligned ( the string should not be visible). But you turned the bow instead to get a straight line. That is not a correct demonstration, I am afraid.

      Tried it, not practical. The vibration from the bow blurs the image and you can barely see the target down range. Those cameras are made for shots around 10 yards, not 20 and 30 yards.

    There seems to have been the 333 Jet, the 3330, the 334 Power Jet, and the 3340 plus, of course, many others. I believe the 3 digit models were longbows and the 4 digit models were recurves. Do you know the difference between the 333 and the 334?

    • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery 20 днів тому

      The three digit was used as the model numbers up to 1968/69. When it sold the company, the new owners went to the four digit. For example, my 67 Colt was a 707 model. In 1969, it became the 7070 model.

    3-D is suppose to simulate hunting. I would not think that people use a bare bow for hunting so what's the point? Could it be that it is easier to score ?

    • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery 22 дні тому

      Who says it is suppose to simulate hunting? If it is then why is every shot a perfect broadside with noting between you and the target? People do use a Barebow to hunt, just like people use crossbows to hunt.

    • @tomburrows3608
      @tomburrows3608 21 день тому

      @@3DArchery If it does not simulate hunting why have 3-D animal targets? Don't we try to get broadside hits on animals. They could save a lot of money and put out bullseye targets instead. Don't mind me I'm just a crusty old traditionalist.

    • @3DArchery
      @3DArchery 21 день тому

      @@tomburrows3608 Because it is different. Before 3D, there was 2D, paper targets with animals drawn or printed. It was said then it was about hunting too. They also shot at them from 70 yards away, not a hunting shot distance. We try, but we take quartering shots do we not? Downward shots from tree stands, where are those on a course? 3D is about shooting for score. It has classes divisions and winners. it is a competition. When I first did archery back in the 70’s, there was no such things as a “Traditional” archer. It was just archery. “Traditional”. Is a recent development, that came from competition, to describe a class! The bullseye target out in the woods is called Field Archery. Where is where 3D came from.
